In the Zoo with the Fuji XT2 + Fujinon 50-140 2.8 PART I

In this blogpost  i´m showing you my photo and video results using the excellent Fujinon 50-140 2.8 on the Fuji X-T2 with the latest firmware 2.0

The af-c custom setting I used for the Fuji XT2 for my trip to the zoo was the one for suddenly appearing subjects. I used this setting for photos and also for video + the movie af mode: area

This setting worked the best for me especially for video, like I have shown in my quick tipp episode 3 video the video AF is very fast using this setting, If you haven´t seen that video, make shure to watch it on my YouTube channel.

All the 4k video scenes captured with the fuji xt2 where edited and color graded in the excellent Davinci Resolve 14 Beta and the photos are edited in Capture One pro 10.1 + RawTherapee 5 for the final film look.

I really enjoyed shooting these photos and the video for you guys, make shure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more upcoming videos here

All photo and video samples you see here are shot handheld with the fujinon 50-140 2.8 using the electronic shutter and the very fast 14 FPS of the XT-2 + booster grip, which enables you to shoot with almost no blackout like you can with the brand-new sony a9, but of course for a LOT less money.

The AF performance worked great for me and i´m also very happy with the results and the image quality using the electronic shutter. I did not notice any extreme rolling shutter or anything else that would make the images look ugly, so I really think using the electronic shutter will work most of the time as long as you don´t use it with artificial light and you don´t pan the lens super fast.

The image quality you can archieve with the Fuji XT2 amazes me every time, especially when you use the very fast capture one pro 10.1 you can get such an amazing amount of detail and sharpness that I don´t have to look back a second at my fullframe time. The price quality ratio is just outstanding and I can´t wait to get the fuji 2x teleconverter for my Fujinon 50-140 2.8
