Autumn in 4K Part I

Todays blogpost is about the beautiful colors of autumn.  I shot this video on the little LX100, which i still love for its small size and everything its capable of, including great internal 4K recording. For my hands on review click here.

When i filmed this at the Donaulände in Linz – Austria, the weather was very cloudy and late in the afternoon, so i didn´t quite expect that the footage will come out so nice, but i think the LX100 did a very good job again. I used ISO 200-400. Everything was recorded handheld and warp stabilized in premiere pro cc and also color graded.

When you record Video with the LX100 make sure to set your costumn settings the way you want.

My settings:

  • Contrast: -5
  • Sharpness: -3
  • Saturation: -5

The LX100 has no flat profile unfortunately, but you can use these customn settings to get something similar, which will help you when you do your colorgrading. I´m surprised how well and easy the files out of the LX100 can be color corrected, they can stand quite a lot of processing.

About Linz – Donaulände

“The city was founded by the Romans, who called it Lentia. The name Linz was first recorded in AD 799.

The city is now home to a vibrant music and arts scene that is well-funded by the city and the state of Upper Austria. Between the Lentos Art Museum and the “Brucknerhaus”, is the “Donaulände”, which is also referred to as “Kulturmeile” (“culture mile”). This is a park alongside the river, which is used mainly by young people to relax and meet in summer. It is also used for the Ars Electronica Festival in early September and the “Linz Fest”, which takes place annually in May. In June, July and August the “Musikpavillon” is placed in the park where musical groups of different styles perform on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays free of charge.”
